Product Installation: Adjusting the tension on the Pinlock lens

Providing proper tension on the lens so that the perimeter of the lens silicon seal firmly contacts the shield is critical to the performance of the lens.  If the lens is loose, it may allow moisture to form between the lens and shield.  If moisture penetrates the chamber between the Pinlock lens and shield, remove the Pinlock to allow it to dry.

Step 1: Remove the shield from the helmet.

Note: Pinlock requires a Pinlock-prepared shield (a shield that has Pinlock pins installed).

Installing the Pinlock lens requires removal of the shield from the helmet. Follow the helmet instructions for removing your shield.

Step 2. Flatten the shield

Flatten the shield by flexing it so that the Pinlock lens can be easily removed from the shield.

Step 3. Remove the pins from the shield

Use a coin to press on the pin to push it out from the shield.

Step 4. Adjust the pins

Adjust the pins by turning them 180 degrees

Step 5. Snap the pins back

Snap the pins back in the shield again using a coin or a hard flat surface to lock the pin back into the shield. Take precaution to protect the shield from any scratching by using a cloth or soft surface.

Step 6. Flex the shield

Carefully flex the shield so it begins to flatten allowing the Pinlock lens to be easily slipped between and onto the pins.

Take precaution to protect the shield from any scratching by using a cloth or soft surface.
